Day 1. BUENOS AIRES - City Tour | Dinner at Estilo Campo Restaurant
Arrive in vivacious Buenos Aires, transfer to your hotel in this modern and sophisticated city with its wide flower-lined boulevards – you’ll think you are traveling in Europe. Time to rest and relax before your afternoon tour of the northern part of the city. See the magnificent parks, and the residential Palermo neighborhood with its elegant residences. Drive via the National Library, School of Law, Latin American Art Museum and the 3 de Febrero Park and Planetarium. Arrive in the Palermo “Soho” district, one of the trendiest areas in the city, with its boutique hotels, eclectic restaurants and design boutiques – the place where locals go to “be seen.” Tonight, a Welcome Dinner at Restaurant Estilo Campo celebrates your arrival in Argentina.
Day 2. BUENOS AIRES- City Tour | Visit El Zanjon de Granados | Lunch at El Historico Restaurant | Dinner at Cabañas Las Lilas
Morning visit to Plaza de Mayo Square, surrounded by the Government House, also known as the “Pink House.” Continue on Avenida de Mayo to see some of the city’s architectural wonders and the Obelisk which rises as a symbol of the city. Nearby, view the majestic Colon Theatre, whose perfect acoustics makes it one of the best Opera Houses in the world. Arrive in the picturesque and colorful port neighborhood of La Boca with its famous street, “Caminito”. This neighbourhood was highly influenced by European immigration at the end of 19th century. The visit continues towards picturesque San Telmo which keeps most of its heritage untouched. Stop to visit El Zanjón de Granados, a place of impressive historical value filled with myth and magic – it is a trip back into the origins of the city. Lunch at the Restaurant El Historico, in San Telmo, belonging to the Argentine Society of Writers; perhaps you’ll meet some talented and well known authors in this quiet and cozy environment. Then, on to the modern Puerto Madero neighborhood, with its former port warehouses, now turned into top-notch facilities and the new Colección Fortabat Modern Art Museum. Tonight, dinner at one of the best Argentine Barbecue Restaurants, Cabañas Las Lilas restaurant, located in the modern area of Puerto Madero.
Day 3. BUENOS AIRES - City Tour
Today’s “Evita” tour begins at the Plaza de Mayo. The many aspects of the life of Eva Duarte de Peron, the legendary 'Evita', are reflected in some of the surrounding buildings, especially in the Casa Rosada. From the balcony above, she and her husband President Juan Peron, made many important speeches to the Argentinean people. View the former venue of the Eva Perón Foundation (now the Faculty of Engineering), and the building of the CGT (General Confederation of Workers), where her remains were preserved. Continue to Luna Park, where Evita met the then-General Peron on a romantic evening. Then, on to the Four Seasons Hotel (ex-Park Hyatt) where Madonna stayed during her filming of the movie. Time to analyze and discuss the many controversial aspects of Evita’s personal and political story. Next, on to the Evita Museum in Palermo, with displays of her life and work, inaugurated for the 50th anniversary of her death; stand in front of the beautiful monument erected in her honor. Then, on to the Church of Our Lady of Pilar, where she married General Peron. Drive to the world-famous Recoleta Cemetery with its astonishing displays; many famous personalities are buried there including Eva Perón. Hear more about her flamboyant life as you stand in front of the Evita crypt, always laden with fresh flowers. Eva Perón is a symbol of the worldwide struggle of women against patriarchal oppression, loved by the working class, who she generously aided during her brief but intense political career. This afternoon time for fun and shopping. You’ll be accompanied to the area of your preference -- the well-known designers of Recoleta or the more local boutiques of modern designers in Palermo, or, perhaps the antique shops in San Telmo, or art galleries. The choice is yours! Discover why Buenos Aires is such a shopping mecca. Tonight is at leisure.
Day 4. BUENOS AIRES – Dinner | Tango Show at La Ventana
After breakfast, your day is at leisure to discover this wonderful city on your own. Visit the San Telmo Antique Market (Sundays only). Or, take a full-day optional tour to an Argentine ranch (“estancia”); enjoy a Gaucho-Style Barbecue Lunch featuring traditional folklore and dance.
Evening: Farewell Dinner and Tango Show at La Ventana in San Telmo district.
Day 5. BUENOS AIRES -Flight back
Breakfast at the hotel.Transfer with Driver only to the airport for your flight back home!
